Revolutionary security camera to be unveiled at International Security Conference East on August 24, 2005
A new high tech homeland security weapon is now available to protect military and law enforcement officers in the war against terror. The revolutionary device is manufactured by Protect-All Security Products, Inc. in New York City.
The AV-360(TM) is a patented, highly effective real-time digital video camera built into or attached to a vehicle's rearview mirror. The innovative camera is available in three forms: the Overt AV-360 and Covert AV-360 are full-size rearview mirror versions. There is also a mobile, one-inch square Cube AV-360, which can be mounted on any existing rearview mirror. It can also be mounted or attached to any bus or train windshield and ceiling.
"It will revolutionize mobile video and vehicle security," according to Joseph J. Mazzilli, who invented and patented the camera. Mazzilli is no stranger to surveillance. He spent eight years in the Organized Crime Control Bureau of the New York Police Department and infiltrated the Colombo crime family.
"In today's world, the police are the front line against terrorism," says Mazzilli. "Having an AV-360 in every police vehicle will prove to be an invaluable tool in terrorism investigations." As an example, if an officer drives down 42nd Street, leaves the area, and moments later a bomb explodes on 42nd Street, the officer could immediately view the 360 video footage from his police cruiser in the area where the explosion took place. The officer could examine the recorded activity in the suspected area of the incident, thus having some leads, which would enhance the investigation by identifying individuals, and documenting vehicles in the area prior to the explosion."
The AV-360 is revolutionary. Traditional cameras have only 90-degree single lenses and can shoot in one or two directions. The AV-360 has a full 360-degree viewing perspective and can be transmitted to a digital video recorder, personal computer or personal digital assistant.
By using the AV-360, police and other law enforcement will be able to view and record activities inside and outside of a vehicle from almost every conceivable perspective.
The AV-360 will also help police departments save money. The New York City Police Department paid out more than $40 million in legal settlements in 2004. As a police officer's invaluable partner that is neither forgetful nor afraid to tell the truth, accusations of wrongdoing can be documented. This documentation can potentially save police departments millions of dollars, allowing the AV-360 to more than pay for itself in the first year.
Mazzilli heads the private security firm, Assist International and the security device corporation, Protect-All Security Products, Inc., both headquartered in New York City. He created the AV-360 to aid in the effort to combat domestic crime and international terrorism.
"It's the silent witness for the everyday policeman," according to Mazzilli, who also says the camera is already being used by the U.S. government in Iraq.
The AV-360 camera system will be demonstrated in a police vehicle at the International Security Conference East in New York City on August 24th and 25th 2005.
