Tough New Micro Domes PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 23 September 2007

Genie’s new ‘Extra’ range of vandal resistant micro domes incorporate a revolutionary rubber ball camera mounting that allows for complete three-axis camera positioning without the use of any screws.

Constructed of tough aluminium alloy, the domes are designed for internal or external (by fitting the optional IP68 weatherproofing kit) use in any situation where CCTV surveillance cameras are vulnerable to attack by vandalism or other types of anti-social behaviour.

Available in a range of 12 monochrome and 6 colour models, the ‘extra’ range are stylishly housed in compact casings and feature either a Sony 1/3 inch interline transfer monochrome CCD or Sony 1/3 inch colour super HAD CCD image sensor. The integral rubber ball, which contains the camera, helps reduce vibration and also increases resistance to vandalism by giving additional protection to the polycarbonate bubble.

The cameras offer an array of highly useful features, including a choice of high resolution 600 or 540TV line or standard resolution 420TV line options (depending on model) and operation in lighting conditions down to 0.1Lux (Mono) or 0.25 Lux (Colour). An automatic Sens-Up function maintains luminance levels in low light conditions.

Colour cameras feature Genie’s innovative digital noise reduction (DNR) technology which enables enhanced levels of identification in low light. It also provides a disk saving feature enabling recorded file sizes to be reduced by up to 70% when using MPEG4 compression.

The new micro domes are available in surface or flush mount options, a choice of sizes, ivory, black or chrome finishes and power supply requirements are 12V DC enabling the new cameras to be easily installed and used in a wide range of environments.
