Spalding, Lincs: a British anti-terrorist organisation has awarded a contract to deister electronic (UK) Ltd to install two proxSafe key cabinets in its headquarters, to secure the keys for their fleet of specialist vehicles. With 24/7 shifts dedicated to preventing terrorism, key management was becoming an increasing problem. The proxSafe installations will provide 24/7 monitored access to keys with an automated audit trail, with integral levels of access control to ensure that the keys of special category vehicles are only available to appropriately qualified and authorised personnel.
Each cabinet will secure up to 32 sets of keys for vehicles, including pursuit vehicles and anti-terrorism response vehicles, which carry a range of specialised equipment. Whilst these stylish key cabinets will initially operate on a stand-alone basis, in due course they will be integrated into the organisation’s main IT computer network. deister electronic UK Director Darren Harrold believes proxSafe has an important role to play in supporting the work of the anti-terrorism personnel, saying: “The organisation has made a huge investment in specialist vehicles in its fight against terrorism, and key security is of vital importance. proxSafe professional key management will ensure that authorised personnel are never delayed when needing access to mission-critical vehicles.”
