OCS Resolution Security has surpassed the Security Industry Authority (SIA) license application target for both September and October 2005 and is well on its way to becoming one of the first SIA Approved Contractors.

As one of only fifteen companies in England and Wales to have reached the 55% target for guard license applications submitted by the end of October, OCS Resolution Security has responded quickly and effectively to the changes in legislation following the introduction of the Private Security Industry Act of 2001. In an industry of nearly half a million staff, OCS has ensured that all its security guards have obtained, or are in the process of obtaining, their SIA licenses - an essential requirement of this is the passing of both proficiency tests and police checks for all security officers.

OCS chief executive, Chris Cracknell, said: "The security industry consists of well over 2,500 security firms, so to have been only one of fifteen to reach the high standards and stringent requirements of the SIA is testament to the professionalism and expertise of our security team at OCS.
